our GIRLS

MEET GINGER

Ginger came from Trigger Time Kennels in Gober, Tx. Ginger was born on October 29th, 2019. She is a long fringed (shedding) red golden. Ginger is a smaller dog (she is from smaller parents). Ginger has an athletic build and she’s tight with all her movements. She is our most mischievous pup— she loves to jump over counters, run until she is totally exhausted, put herself in any water puddle she meets, and is filled with so much energy. When she's awake she does everything 100%.

Ginger has dark long red fringe. White patches run in her family line—some will blend into the surrounding fur, and others stand out in beautiful contrast (not show quality, but fantastic hunting line). She has a stiffer fur, stickers are far less likely to get embedded! With her smaller size, she is able to get into smaller places and strong enough to pull herself out (and whatever she went after) with little effort.

Ginger is a carrier for the ichthyosis variant and PDPD (night blindness). This is nothing to be wary of, as she is not affected. She only carries one variant of each. She will only ever be bred to Ruger (who does not carrry these variants) so no puppies will be affected by any genetic conditions. When adopting a puppy from Ginger, you will receive a copy of her AKC certificate, health certifications, and pedigree. Stay tuned and watch her grow!!

our ReTIRED GIRLS

MEET PEANUT

The matriarch of Panhandle Golden Retrievers is our Peanut. She is a red golden retriever from Hunter's Goldstrike Kennels in Colorado. She was born on 5/21/2014. She is extremely intelligent. We had a big scare when she got loose one day and was able to survive 47 days lost in the woods without access to people, food, and help. She made a den for her own safety and found enough water to survive until she was found. Peanut is not only my right hand, she is so mothering to all the puppies we bring home. Her coloring is a dark red coat with white fringe, she is the breed’s preferred standard size. Her family consists of a long line of master hunters, documented in her pedigree from Hunter's Goldstrike with excellent and clear genetics. Beyond the pedigree she brings, she is intelligent and loving with a quiet personality. She has the perfect balance of independence with loyalty and love for her family. She can be protective, in a firm way, if necessary but mainly just wants to love on everyone she meets.

MEET KIMBER

Kimber has a bit of a special story. She was actually rescued and adopted in December 2020 when her original owner/breeder died of medical complications. She lived in a back yard her entire life with little human interaction, so she has come a long way adjusting our home and the other dogs.

Althought she is techincally a “rescue,” Kimber is not a fearful dog-- she doesn’t back down and holds her own. However, she never intentionally starts a fight with the others.  She is a very sweet and gentle girl that is trying to find her place in a family for the first time. She enjoys laying her head in our laps, with her tail wagging, as long as she is allowed to do this. Kimber is a very fluffy and soft dog who loves the brush. Her curly white and gold fur doesn’t shed much, if any! Its one of the many exception qualities about her! Her mother was a standard golden retriever, and her dad was an English Cream.

Kimber's AKC name when we got her was "Monty's Shorty Pearl". You will notice the pedigree tree says this. We have filed for a name change, and AKC approved the name change to "Panhandle Goldens Kimber" which you will see on all other certificates/reports. When adopting a puppy from Kimber, you will receive a copy of her AKC certificate, health certifications, and pedigree.
